Last weekend, the weekend of the 6th, we went to the Museum of Natural Science for their big "Snow Day." It turned out to be a giant cluster, with many hundreds of people converging on one tiny spot with all their many children in tow. There was lots of waiting in lines and killing time involved in actually getting to the "snow," and then upon arriving, it turned out to be completely anticlimactic. The "snow" was compacted down into, basically, a flat patch of ice. No snowballs to be thrown, no snowmen to be made, just some careful treading across a slippery surface so as not to fall. Plus, it had to be in the 50s that day, so... It just didn't feel very snowy.
Anyway it was a beautiful day, really a perfect day, and I'd decided to go to the snow thingy instead of to the Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree, which was a really bad decision. The snow dealie was a massive waste of time, energy, and money with a payoff of zilch, and we wound up getting our tree from the very overpriced nursery down the street. Boo.
We went to see Bolt again, this time in 3D, which was AWESOME. It was so much fun.
And then lo and behold, it snowed in Houston
for real. Neat.
